Looking back at your spiritual journey, has there been a time when someone encouraged you? If so, share your story and how it helped you grow.

Pastor Chris talked about many types and ways to encourage others: words, actions, support, hope... Thinking about who you are and how God made you, what type of encouragement works best for you?

Paul was maybe the greatest encourager of his day. The story of Pricilla and Aquila is a notable example of Paul’s influence on others. Read Acts 18:1-4, 18-19, 24-28 and Romans 16:3-5.

What do you find most interesting about this couple’s encouragement backstory? In what ways do you relate to the experience of Pricilla and Aquila?

Paul is still encouraging us today. Some of the cream of the crop encouraging verses in the New Testament came from Paul’s pen. Read the following:

Galatians 2:20

Philippians 4:13

Romans 8:37-39

Hebrews 10:24-25

2 Corinthians 4:17-18

How do these passages make you feel?

What realities stand out to you?

How can we bring these truths into our lives and share them with others?

In our culture, there is a push for people to perform Acts of Random Kindness, or ARKs. This week’s message spotlighted the power of Acts of Purposeful Encouragement, or APEs. There is a subtle, but definite difference between the two. ARKs vs. APEs. What is your opinion?

In light of the challenge Pastor Chris gave this week, has God allowed you to encourage someone or be encouraged already this week? Do share.
