8/30 Yuba City - Daniel 7
Daniel 7 reminds us that earthly kingdoms are temporary, but God's kingdom is eternal. God reveals what is ahead not merely to satisfy our curiosity, but to prepare His people to live faithfully now.
The vision points to Jesus, the Son of Man, who has received everlasting authority and will return. Because we know where history is going, we should live differently today—seeing people in light of eternity, staying on mission, and making sure we are prepared to meet Jesus.
Big Idea: When we know what's ahead, it changes what we prepare for.
What's something you prepare for differently because you know what's coming?
Why do you think God gives us prophecy? What can go wrong when we focus only on figuring out the details?
We know eternity is ahead, but plenty of things compete for our attention now: houses, possessions, entertainment, experiences, success, comfort. Which of these tends to captivate you most, and why are they so good at distracting us from what matters eternally?
Read Daniel 7:13–14 and Mark 14:61–62. What stands out to you about these two passages together? What do they teach us about Jesus?
Read Matthew 28:18–20 and Acts 1:8. We’re living in the "in between": Jesus has come, He reigns, and He will return. Talk about what our mission should be while we wait. What would it look like for us to actually live like that mission is urgent?
Who is one person God has placed around you that you can begin praying for and intentionally move toward?
